| Corporate
brand identity – what is corporate branding?
Your brand is as personal to you and
your business as your fingerprint. It is your ‘mark’
and the image by which others will identify you. That
is why it has to be the right image for you and one
which will make the right impact. Branding is not just
about standing out from the crowd – it is about
getting your potential customers to see you as the only
one that provides a solution to their problem.

| A strong brand will: |
Deliver your message
clearly |
Confirm your credibility |
Identify your
position in the marketplace |
Motivate potential
buyers |
Build customer
loyalty. |
Logos
A logo is the visual embodiment of
a brand. To reinforce brand recognition the logo should
be used consistently and never tampered with or modified
in any way. Make sure you keep a digital ‘master’
version of the logo that can be supplied to designers
or printers when required. This will avoid suppliers
re-drawing the logo which may result in inaccurate and
inconsistent versions of the logo.
Use
your logo at a fixed size for standard formats,
eg A4, A5 to help reinforce the consistency of the
branding |
Position
your logo in a consistent manner (eg, always at
the top left corner of the page) |
Always allow a minimum amount of white space around
your logo to let it ‘breathe’ |
If launching a new product or service consider the
use of a strap line, to be used in conjunction with
the logo, that quickly conveys the nature and/or
benefit of the product. |
